Bystander Pulls Man From Car Dangling Over Parking Garage

A man trying to park his car in an Austin, Texas  parking garage Friday spent a harrowing few moments dangling several stories above the ground.

Austin Fire officials responded to the building to find the vehicle with a heavily damaged rear cab off the side of the building.

Officials said the 24-year-old driver was attempting to park and was unable to stop, pushing past the ninth-story barricade and over the edge of the building.

Guy wires used as buffers along the edge of the building caught in the vehicle's wheel, preventing it from crashing to the ground below.

The driver was able to climb out of the vehicle with the aid of bystander Zachary Cayson onto the eighth level.

He said he and a friend had just left the garage when they heard screams and banging noises. They looked up, and moments later Cayson found himself sprinting up the stairs to help.

Cayson said what only took a few minutes felt like hours.

"He said, 'What should I do,' and we just took it step by step," Cayson said. "We unbuckled his seat belt, one hand at a time... I told him we should be real calm and it'll be real easy."

"Certainly as he [the driver] was climbing out he was in a very precarious position," said Austin Fire Department Chief Palmer Buck. "The car is moving, it's only tied to one steel line... but he was able to nimbly get out of the car and work his way over to the side."

The street was closed  as the vehicle was slowly winched down to street level and towed, and for crews to clear the scene.

As for the driver, who Cayson referred to as Will... there may be a new friendship budding.

"He said thank you, and we exchanged information. I sent him a Facebook request; we'll probably keep in touch. If I see him out later, I'll buy him a beer," said Cayson.

This man suppose go book thanksgiving service. This kain thing wey we dey see for film, think say na film trick.
