Dead Man's Wife Makes A Shocking Discovery About Him After Reading His Obituary

There she found they’d printed two tributes to him. One from her – and one from his girlfriend.

Fibreglass technician Leroy Black, 55, died in August of cancer sustained through his job. Both the tributes agree on many details, naming the same relations and funeral home but one obituary mentions his "loving wife" while the other names his "long-time girlfriend". His wife, Bearetta Black, and his girlfriend, Princess Hall, provided the same funeral details as well.

When local media contacted the funeral home in Egg Harbor, a town in the US state of New Jersey, to find out more, they told NBC News one caller had asked “if there's going to be a problem between the wife and the girlfriend" at the funeral.

Joseph Greenidge Jr, who runs the funeral directors, said it wasn’t unheard of for people to have multiple obituaries but he revealed in an interview with KYW Radio that it was Leroy’s wife who organised the ceremony.

He said: "We follow the state law, which is that there is one point of contact. "In this case, as in any case, it would be the spouse, and so we followed the direction of the spouse."
