Ryan Lochte Stage Stormed By Protesters On Dancing With The Stars

Two protesters have been arrested for storming the stage after Ryan Lochte's debut on Dancing with the Stars.

Police in Los Angeles confirmed to Newsbeat that two men were taken into custody after the incident involving the Olympic swimmer.

"Suspects posted as audience members - they then changed their clothes to reveal anti-Lochte slogans," a spokesman explained.

The pair, aged 40 and 48, both from LA, were arrested for trespassing.

It happened as the judges were critiquing Lochte and his dance partner Cheryl Baker on the US version of Strictly Come Dancing.

Lochte said he felt "a little hurt" afterwards.

"So many feelings are going through my head right now."

The protests seem to be in response to the swimmer's behaviour at the Olympics in Rio.

Mr Lochte admitted he "exaggerated" claims he was robbed at gunpoint after a night out during the Games.

Following that, four sponsors dropped him, including Speedo and Ralph Lauren.

US team officials have since banned Lochte for 10 months, which means he will miss the 2017 World Championships.

After it was revealed the gunpoint incident was made up, Ryan Lochte said: "I made a mistake and I definitely learned from this. They put on a great Games... and my immature, intoxicated behaviour tarnished that a little."

Carrie Ann Inaba was beginning her comments on Dancing with the Stars when the stage invasion occurred.
