Rooney Dropped As Manchester United Take On Leicester
Jose Mourinho's Manchester United side will take on league winners Leicester later today. Man U's captain Wayne Rooney has been dropped from the team and would probably start from the bench.
Rooney's poor form this season put Jose Mourinho under pressure to make a change and the United captain has been benched for the match against the reigning champions.
Juan Mata is playing as a No. 10 behind lone striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic with Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard on the wings.
Mourinho resisted the chance to give Paul Pogba some more support in midfield as he starts in a two with Ander Herrera.
Man Utd team today: De Gea, Valencia, Smalling (c), Bailly, Blind, Pogba, Herrera, Rashford, Mata, Lingard, Ibrahimovic. Subs: Romero, Fosu-Mensah, Rojo, Carrick, Fellaini, Young, Rooney.
