Jose Mourinho's manchester united thrashed last season's league winners Leicester City 4-1.
The goals came from Defender and captain Smalling in the 22nd minute, Midfielder Juan Mata 37nd minute, Marcus Rashford in the 40th minute and Paul Pogba crowned it off with his first goal for the club in the 42nd minute. Leicester City star Gray pulled one back in the 59th Minute.
It should be noted that Jose benched Rooney for this game and only brought him in towards the end to replace Rashford. United looked like a newly revived and well oilled team with Pogba winning the player of the match trophy.
It is obvious that the team does not need Rooney again.
