Some Fulani herdsmen have decided to challenge Ekiti State's anti grazing law, which was signed by Governor Fayose in court.
Apparently, the herdsmen have lawyers, and they have instructed them to study the law and challenge aspects of it which they diagree with. This includes portions of the law which prevents the herdsmen from carrying firearms. The herdsmen counter that they need such firearms to protect themselves from robbers and the such. Indeed.
Anyways, we must congratulate them on the use of the intruments of the law to challenge this, rather than resorting to violence. We hope that this common sense prevails over the long term, and the unnecesary bloodshed that has become associated with fulani herdsmen abates.
